Bio

Dr. R.N. (Nils) Planken is radioloog in het Amsterdam UMC op de locatie AMC en gespecialiseerd in de cardiovasculaire beeldvorming. Optimalisatie van klinische cardiovasculaire beeldvormingstechnieken en implementatie van innovaties in de klinische praktijk vormen het centrale thema in zijn klinische werk, onderwijs en wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Voorbeelden van succesvolle technische verbeteringen en implementatie van cardiale beeldvorming zijn onder meer op de patiënt afgestemde cardiale CT-scanprotocollen, op de patiënt aangepaste contrastprotocollen en 4D-flow-MRI, voor zowel pasgeborenen als volwassenen.

Na het afronden zijn studie geneeskunde en promotieonderzoek aan de Universiteit Maastricht (proefschrift “Hemodialsysis vascular access imaging”) heeft hij zijn opleiding radiologie en fellowship cardiovasculaire radiologie in het Academisch Medisch Centrum in Amsterdam voltooid.
